PM inaugurates New Integrated Terminal Building of Chennai Airport in Chennai, Tamil Nadu
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the New Integrated Terminal Building (Phase-1) of Chennai International Airport was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, who also walked through the new facility. According to the Prime Minister's tweet, the new terminal at Chennai airport will be of great assistance to the residents of this esteemed city as well as the people of Tamil Nadu as a whole. Additionally, the terminal building showcases the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.

With a cost of Rs. 1260 crores, the construction of the new Integrated Terminal Building will boost the airport's passenger capacity from 23 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) to 30 MPPA. The design of the terminal is an impressive representation of the regional Tamil culture, featuring traditional elements like Kolam, Saree, Temples, and other adornments that showcase the beauty of the natural surroundings.
During the event, the Prime Minister was joined by several esteemed individuals, including the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Shri R N Ravi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M K Stalin, the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, and the Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri L Murugan.
