Emirates to offer daily flights to Toronto from 20 April

Emirates increases Toronto flights.

Emirates has increased its frequency between Dubai and Toronto by two additional flights per week following the breakthrough expanded air transport agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Canada. Starting from 20th April, the airline will operate daily flights on the busy route to cater to the high demand for passenger services.

The improved bilateral relations between the two countries are expected to bring vast economic benefits across various sectors and supply chains. Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, hailed the development as a crucial one for the airline and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and authorities who played a part in this pivotal agreement.

Emirates has been serving customers between Toronto and Dubai since 2007, and despite the double-decker A380 aircraft operating the route since 2009, demand from leisure and corporate travellers, diaspora, and students has consistently exceeded the allocated capacity. The enhanced agreement represents a turning point for the airline to serve its customers better by providing more choice and flexibility and meeting pent-up demand across its growing network.

According to Kazim, the enhanced air services between Canada and the UAE will further nurture business and trade ties, and emphasize the growing importance of the UAE to Canada's global connectivity. Emirates' global network of over 130 destinations will support this development, along with their codeshare and loyalty program partner Air Canada, and industry partners. Kazim expressed optimism in facilitating more tourism and trade opportunities between the two nations.

Emirates operates its flagship A380 aircraft on the Dubai-Toronto route, providing Economy Class, Business Class, and First Class to 491 passengers on each flight. The airline will now offer close to 2,000 additional seats to serve the busy route with the two extra flights per week, representing a 40% increase in capacity between Dubai and Toronto. The Dubai-Toronto route is a popular choice among customers from India, UAE, Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka, while these same countries are also top destinations for travellers departing from Toronto.

To book tickets, customers can either visit www.emirates.com or get in touch with their preferred travel agents.

Emirates established a codeshare partnership with Air Canada last year, providing customers with seamless connectivity when flying to domestic points within Canada via Toronto. The top connections for Emirates' customers beyond Toronto include Ottawa, Winnipeg, Halifax, Montreal, Calgary, and Edmonton. In contrast, Air Canada's customers can travel to various destinations across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East via Emirates' extensive network of over 130 destinations through its hub located in Dubai.
