The Radio Telephony Restricted (Aero) Examination, also known as RTR (Aero), is a written and oral exam that is required for obtaining a license to operate an aircraft radio in India. The exam is conducted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Department of Telecommunications, Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) wing.
The RTR (Aero) Exam is divided into two parts: written and practical. The written part consists of questions that test the candidate's knowledge of radio equipment, radio procedures, and communication protocols. The practical part involves the candidate demonstrating their ability to communicate effectively using an aircraft radio.
After passing the exam, candidates are issued an RTR (Aero) license that allows them to operate an aircraft radio within the Indian airspace.
