Passenger Caught Smoking Mid-Air Inside Air India Aircraft Lavatory
A Passenger Caught Smoking on Delhi-Bound Air India Flight.
Despite clear warnings from flight attendants and lavatory signs, disruptive behavior by passengers on Indian airlines continues to pose a threat to safety and comfort. In the latest incident, a passenger was caught smoking in the lavatory of an Air India plane en route to Delhi. The incident occurred on March 4th during a scheduled flight AI763 between Kolkata and New Delhi on an Airbus A321, with the passenger sneaking into the toilet with a cigarette and matchstick.
The smell of smoke quickly spread from the lavatory, triggering an alarm and alerting the crew to the situation. The air traffic control in Delhi was immediately notified, and upon landing, the passenger was handed over to the police. The individual claimed to be a chain smoker.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Less than two months prior, a 62-year-old man was caught smoking in the lavatory of a SpiceJet plane and was also handed over to the police. These types of disruptive behaviors must be taken seriously and dealt with accordingly to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers on board.
